Architect and designer, Eleonora Nicoletti, shares her work on solar facades, photovoltaics and public art and how it can lead to rethinking the retrofit of buildings in Bristol.

Biography

Dr. Eleonora Nicoletti is an architect and Senior Lecturer in Architecture and Environmental Engineering at the School of Architecture and Environment, UWE, Bristol. As an educator, her work focuses on teaching advanced technologies and computational architecture.

Eleonora’s research focuses on the design and development of technologies and processes that improve the perceptual quality of spaces as well as buildings’ energy performance. With a specialism in simulation-based and participatory approaches for communicative facade designs that meet zero- and positive-energy building standards, her work has lead to a number of experiments on photovoltaics and public art. Alongside her teaching and research, her design based work has augmented public spaces in Europe, the United States, and Qatar.
